Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania in NTUU "KPI"

On November 28, 2007, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Romania in Ukraine Mr T.L. Christia was met on request of rector of NTUU «KPI» M.Z. Zgurovsky. This visit was devoted to the discussion of the prospects of collaboration within the framework of the Black Sea University Network, as M.Z. Zgurovsky was elected as the President of this Network for 2008-2010.

The ambassador of Romania was accompanied by minister-councellor R.Stancio and first secretary C.Arghin.
M.Z. Zgurovsky acquainted the Ambassador with the history of NTUU "KPI", shared his impressions of the recent meeting with the President of Romania T.Basesku, told about the implementation of the project on «Sustainable Development» of BSUN, the coordinator of which is NTUU "KPI".

During the meeting Ambassador informed rector M.Z. Zgurovsky about the Romanian BSUN-members universities which are interested in the development of collaboration with universities of Ukraine, particularly with NTUU «KPI», and also told about educational programs and directions of possible collaboration.

During the negotiations the proposition was expressed concerning the joining of NTUU «KPI» to the Association of French-speaking Universities as this is going to assist of international collaboration enhancement of Ukrainian universities and will give the new opportunities for participation of students, postgraduate students and teachers in the international mobility programs and scientific exchange. Also the ambassador passed the full list of Romanian universities-partners with detailed information about their activities.

Rector M. Z. Zgurovsky invited the Ambassador to take part in «Forum on Higher Education – Congress of the Black Sea University Network» which is to be held in spring 2008.

Mr. M.Z. Zgurovsky on behalf of the university asked the Ambassador of Romania to pass the invitation to visit NTUU «KPI» to the President T.Basesku. International Relations Department of the university was charged to collaborate with the Romanian diplomats in order to implement the attained agreements, to inform public and students about the development of collaboration of NTUU «KPI» with the educational and scientific sphere of Romania, including BSUN activity mechanisms.

After the meeting hold in a friendly atmosphere guests from Romania were acquainted with the infrastructure of KPI, with the galleries of the prominent scientists whose work was connected with NTUU «KPI», and students – the winners of international competitions in mathematics, physics and informatics.
